Panettone with black cherry

I used to climb the tree in my grandparents’ garden and literally gorge myself on cherries, rubbing them lightly between my hands for a rough wash. They were irresistible eaten like that, stolen directly from the branches, lulled by the sun’s rays… amidst grandma’s screams. I savor them again now in one of our Marchesi Panettone, and that sense of freedom and those screams that were actually caresses come back to my heart.
